We are a company offering you the chance to protect yourself. This test can warn you and allow you to take action.
You can use this test if you suspect you drink may of been spiked in beer, wine, alcopops, mixers and soft drinks, However the test will not work on milk or shots of alcohol.
We offer a single dip test, that will detect the most common drugs, Benzodiazepines or 'benzos' or Ketamine but it will not test for Gamma-Hydroxybutrate (GHB) as this is a new drug. The test will detect if it is in your drink or already in your system. Benzodiazepines produce amnesia, muscle relaxation and a sedative effects, as Benzodiazepines are tranquillisers, they are available on prescription for example ; insomnia, psychiatric disorders and extreme back pain. Rohypnol is the most common date rape drug used, it is in tablet form, white scored on one side stamped wording 'ROCHE'. Rohypnol takes effect after just after 10 minutes of being swallowed, it is tasteless and odourless. The effects of Rohypnol when mixed with alcohol make you appear to be extremely drunk, even if you have on consumed only one alcoholic drink, due to this disturbing effect your memory may be faded so much so you can't remember what happened. The effect lasts 8 hours but coupled with alcohol the effects can last up to 36 hrs. There is however a possibility of false results due to the interference of other substances.
The test is small and sits in the palm of your hand. The test only takes 10 seconds. The results on negative can be read as soon as they appear, but positive results must be read at least 5 minutes after removing from the drink, the same rules apply when testing urine. This test is very accurate and sensitivity levels meet with the U.S.A SAMHSA( Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration) standards and recommended level. However a possible false reading can result due to interference of other substances.

From Robin Pivett Controlled Drug, Chemical Liaison Drug Reduction and Prevention Officer
Please find attached the results of the findings in respect of the Forensic Science Survey 2000 to 2003, the report by the ACMD and the Government's response, these are public documents and can be found on the Internet.
In order to get details of instances in Suffolk I would have to ask you to write in and make an official request, that is not me being awkward, that is the protocol which we all have to adopt, otherwise I would breach our rules and regs.
Nationally when I last looked for the UK it was 1 in 12 complaints that someone's drink had a substance put in it by someone else was genuine, that is not to say that all the others are not investigated because they all are.
Drug Facilitated Sexual Assault is a serious offence and when reported is treated extremely seriously by the police.....I know that Insp Kidd Stanton will be pursuing with others a card or other material to give out at venues giving clear instructions on what to do and who to report to etc which will encompass the Safer Clubbing Guidelines, this also includes what to do if you take drugs.
I hope this helps.
See the reports and the government response here:

Drink spiking is when mind-altering substances, such as drugs or alcohol have been added to your drink without you knowing. Mind-altering means that it may affect how you act, or how you behave with other people.
There are many reasons why someone might spike a drink, but the most common reasons are for amusement or to carry out sexual assault, rape, or theft.
Symptoms of drink spiking will depend if a drug was used, and how much alcohol you have drunk. You will need to have your blood or urine tested by the police to confirm that you have been spiked with drugs.
Drink spiking is illegal, even if an attack or assault has not been carried out. It can result in a maximum of 10 years in prison for anyone who does it. If an assault, rape, or robbery is then carried out the sentence will be even higher.
It is not only females who are likely to have their drink spiked. Almost 11% of people who report having their drink spiked are male. |

Drug related rape and sexual abuse achieved through drink spiking is forever in the news, and the question as to whether it is really happening or whether it is an urban myth seems to crop up more and more frequently.
Indeed some members of the press claim precisely that.
